Governor Mikie Sherrill posted a series of statements on April 10, 2026, addressing economic challenges in New Jersey and outlining her administration’s initiatives for government accountability and affordability.

In a post from the morning of April 10, Sherrill commented on inflation trends: “En marzo la inflación alcanzó a su punto más alto en años, impulsada por la guerra del presidente en Irán, Y una vez más, cuando Trump se mete, suben los precios y somos las familias trabajadoras de Nueva Jersey quienes pagamos el precio. Seguiré luchando para bajar el costo de” (April 10, 2026).

Later that day, she outlined planned improvements to state government operations: “Our budget will make government faster, smarter, and more accountable. Here’s how:

Modernized systems
Better oversight
NJ Report Card on how tax dollars are being spent
Real-time permitting dashboard for businesses” (April 10, 2026).

By the evening of April 10, Sherrill referenced efforts to address housing affordability and support for veterans and seniors: “I ran for office to make New Jersey more affordable and to build a government that delivers for the people it’s meant to serve.

By breaking ground on a new housing community in Avenel for our veterans and seniors, we’re doing both.

And we’re not stopping here – in my budget,” (April 10, 2026).

Mikie Sherrill has represented New Jersey’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress since replacing Rodney Frelinghuysen in 2019. Born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Montclair at age 51, Sherrill has focused her political career on issues affecting working families in New Jersey.
