Governor Mikie Sherrill addressed a range of policy initiatives in New Jersey through a series of posts on April 15, 2026. The statements, made via her official account, highlight her administration’s engagement with the Latino community, efforts to combat food insecurity, and support for technological innovation.
In one post, Sherrill described meeting with local leaders: “Fue un honor reunirme con lideres de toda la comunidad latina para escuchar directamente sobre los temas que más importan: ampliar el acceso al capital para pequeñas empresas, mejorar la representación en el gobierno, proteger a cada persona que vive en Nueva Jersey del abuso de” (April 15, 2026).
Addressing hunger and nutrition in the state, she wrote: “In New Jersey, there is no reason that anybody should go to bed hungry. That’s why, in my budget, I am protecting funding for our state food banks and free school meals.” (April 15, 2026).
On advancing aviation technology and innovation in New Jersey, Sherrill stated: “Visited the Federal Aviation Administration Technical Center in Egg Harbor, one of the nation’s premier federal aviation laboratories for advancing our airspace system. By implementing a new Integration Pilot Program, New Jersey is advancing to the forefront of innovation within” (April 15, 2026).
Mikie Sherrill has represented New Jersey’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019 after succeeding Rodney Frelinghuysen. Born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Montclair at age 51, she has focused her public service career on issues relevant to both her constituents and broader state interests.
