Governor Mikie Sherrill announced via social media on April 3, 2026, that she and her family will move to Drumthwacket this summer. The series of posts also reflected on the role of Drumthwacket in New Jersey’s history and offered a message for Good Friday.

In her first post at 12:04 p.m., Governor Sherrill stated, “Jason and I are excited to let our fellow New Jerseyans know that we are moving our family to Drumthwacket this summer.

From Day One, this Administration has committed to getting to work in Trenton to deliver on our commitments. We’re thrilled to further strengthen that”.

At 12:05 p.m., she followed up with another message: “Drumthwacket is the people’s house, and we look also forward to continuing to bring it to life for New Jersey residents and highlight all the incredible history it offers.

Our family looks forward to this exciting next chapter, and we thank the dedicated New Jersey state staff”.

Later in the day at 1:00 p.m., Sherrill shared a holiday greeting: “Good Friday is a time for reflection, humility, and renewed faith. Wishing peace and meaning to all who observe this day.”

Mikie Sherrill has represented New Jersey’s 11th district in Congress since replacing Rodney Frelinghuysen in 2019. She was born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and currently resides in Montclair.
