On March 30, 2026, Governor Sherrill posted about new legislation aimed at addressing healthcare workforce shortages: “Today, I signed legislation eliminating certain practice restrictions for advanced practice nurses. At a time of workforce shortages in the health care industry, we are committed to expanding access to care and driving down costs – not creating more barriers for New Jerseyans.” (March 30, 2026).
Later that day, she highlighted her attendance at an official event: “It was an honor to witness the swearing-in of Priya Jain as our Department of Transportation Commissioner. When I ran for Governor, I promised to make government more efficient and open doors of opportunity for everyone. Having a world-class transportation system is essential to” (March 30, 2026).
On March 31, 2026, Governor Sherrill marked Transgender Day of Visibility with a message supporting inclusivity: “In New Jersey, we believe in respect and dignity for everyone. On Transgender Day of Visibility, we recognize and celebrate the transgender community — and reaffirm our commitment to standing together against division and discrimination. “ (March 31, 2026).
Mikie Sherrill has served as U.S. Congresswoman representing New Jersey’s 11th district since replacing Rodney Frelinghuysen in 2019. Born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Montclair at age 51, Sherrill has emphasized policies aimed at increasing efficiency in government services and promoting equity across state institutions.
