Governor Mikie Sherrill has recently shared updates on her official social media account regarding her engagements with New Jersey communities and ongoing state matters.
On April 14, 2026, Governor Sherrill posted about a visit to the Department of Community Affairs (DCA), stating, “Dropped by the @NJDCA to chat with staff! The DCA is central to my mission to build a more affordable, accountable New Jersey, where we open the doors of opportunity for everyone, and deliver for the people and businesses we’re meant to serve.”
Later that day, she addressed a recent incident in North Bergen: “I’ve been briefed on the train derailment in North Bergen. At this time there are no reported injuries, and the hazmat teams have been working on site to mitigate the situation. We are monitoring the situation closely and are grateful for the first responders on the scene.”
On April 15, 2026, Governor Sherrill highlighted her engagement with leaders from across New Jersey’s Latino community: “It was an honor to meet with leaders from across the Latino community to hear directly about the issues that matter most – expanding access to capital for minority-owned businesses, improving representation in government, protecting every New Jerseyan from federal overreach…”
Mikie Sherrill has served as U.S. Congresswoman representing New Jersey’s 11th district since 2019 after succeeding Rodney Frelinghuysen. Born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Montclair at age 51, she has emphasized community engagement and public safety throughout her tenure.
