Governor Mikie Sherrill has used her social media platform to address voting rights and celebrate local sports achievements in New Jersey. In a series of posts on April 6 and 7, Sherrill commented on election integrity, early voting expansion, and the accomplishments of New Jersey athletes.
The following day, she congratulated two local athletes: “Congratulations to two of New Jersey’s finest, @yaxel_lendeborg and @elliotcadeau, on their national title. Well deserved! https://t.co/d3ZjZ6U32T” (April 7). Later that same day, she acknowledged a prominent basketball coach from Jersey City: “Big shoutout to Jersey City’s own Coach Dan Hurley for a hard-fought season! https://t.co/eDTvDWxnsG” (April 7).
Mikie Sherrill is currently serving in the U.S. Congress as the representative for New Jersey’s 11th district since 2019 after succeeding Rodney Frelinghuysen. She was born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and resides in Montclair.
