The campaign committee of Democratic Party candidate Imani Raine Oakley, Citizens Fighting for Our Communities, refunded $2,900 in September, according to data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Candidates can refuse or return contributions for a variety of reasons. Contributions may be refunded, for instance, in the event that the candidate does not want to be affiliated with a contributor, a contribution exceeds legal limits, or the candidate withdraws from a race.

Citizens Fighting for Our Communities has refunded $2,900 total since the beginning of 2021.
