The Township of Livingston announced on Mar. 30 that its annual “Pick It Up!” community clean-up event will take place on Sunday, April 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Residents are invited to volunteer by signing up online.

The event encourages members of the community to help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of Livingston by collecting litter in designated outdoor areas. Volunteers can also earn community service hours for their participation.

To join, participants must register individually or as part of a group using an online form available at bit.ly/4ddOJbN or through the township website calendar at livingstonnj.org. Location Team Leaders will be assigned to each site and will provide volunteers with supplies and additional instructions about parking and meeting locations before the event.

There are nine specific clean-up locations this year: Beaufort Avenue; the Livingston Senior/Community Center at 204 Hillside Avenue; West Hobart Gap Road from Nero’s to Coventry; East Hobart Gap Road from the Fire Station to South Orange Avenue; Laurel Avenue in Prospect Park; East Northfield Road at the Kiwanis entrance; Shrewsbury Avenue in East Hills Park; South Livingston Avenue across from St. Philomena’s; and Madonna Drive by Livingston High School.

Organizers remind all volunteers that minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while participating in any of the designated areas. Those with questions may contact organizers via email at pickituplivingston@gmail.com.
