U.S. Representative Mikie Sherrill, who serves New Jersey’s 11th district in Congress, has recently addressed several issues on her social media account, including legislative efforts to protect sensitive information and the importance of public broadcasting.

On August 28, 2025, Sherrill posted about her ongoing legislative work regarding data security: “For months, I’ve been pushing legislation to restrict DOGE’s access to our Social Security and Medicaid information to avoid this outcome. Musk and his DOGE employees have risked the sensitive, personal information of over 300 million people, threatening their access to critical”. The post references concerns about the protection of personal data related to Social Security and Medicaid.

Later that day, Sherrill reached out directly to constituents in New Jersey’s 11th district with an informational resource: “Hey NJ-11! If you missed my Scams and Fraud Awareness Webinar, you can find a full recording on my YouTube channel here: https://t.co/YigHucu726” (August 28, 2025).

On August 29, she highlighted the role of public broadcasting in American society: “Public broadcasting keeps Americans informed—through emergency alerts, local news, and essential programming. (1/2) https://t.co/ASjlLNOudQ”.

Mikie Sherrill has represented New Jersey’s 11th congressional district since replacing Rodney Frelinghuysen in 2019. She was born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and currently resides in Montclair.
