U.S. Representative Mikie Sherrill, who has represented New Jersey’s 11th district in Congress since 2019, recently addressed a range of national issues on her social media account.

On September 1, 2025, Sherrill marked Labor Day by acknowledging the contributions of American workers and unions. She wrote, “Today, we honor the workers who built this state and our country, power our economy, and strengthen the middle class, along with the unions that won us safer workplaces, fairer wages, and the right to organize. I’m always proud to stand with them and for workers’ rights. Happy https://t.co/eisBmJ6XNh”.

The following day, on September 2, she criticized independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., referencing his reported stance on federal employees. Sherrill stated, “RFK Jr. is following the Trump playbook: threatening federal workers and jeopardizing the health of the American people. Firing employees of the CDC is irresponsible, dangerous, and leaves America vulnerable to a public health crisis.”

On September 3, Sherrill commented on actions by former President Donald Trump regarding U.S. foreign aid allocations: “Donald Trump is once again taking unlawful action with this ‘pocket recission,’ slashing billions in foreign aid without Congressional approval. It’s illegal and a direct attack on our system of checks and balances.”

Mikie Sherrill has served as a member of Congress for New Jersey’s 11th District since replacing Rodney Frelinghuysen in 2019. Born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Montclair at age 51, Sherrill has become an active voice on labor rights and government accountability.
