On June 1, 2025, Rep. Sherrill shared her enthusiasm for Pride Month by stating “Pride is a celebration of love, identity, and the ongoing fight for equality.” She expressed her anticipation to celebrate with the LGBTQ+ community in New Jersey’s 11th District as efforts continue towards ensuring safety and support for everyone.

On June 1, she tweeted “I’m horrified by today’s antisemitic attack against the Jewish community in Boulder.” She emphasized the importance of advocacy for hostages held by Hamas and condemned violence against such efforts.
The following day on June 2, Rep. Sherrill attended a significant local event in South Orange. She announced via Twitter “My team was excited to join the @JESPYHouse groundbreaking ceremony in South Orange this weekend!” Praising JESPY House’s work providing opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New Jersey.
Mikie Sherrill was born in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1972 and currently resides in Montclair.
