U.S. Representative Mikie Sherrill, who serves New Jersey’s 11th congressional district, recently addressed a range of issues on her social media accounts, from community events to national policy concerns.

On August 6, 2025, Sherrill expressed appreciation for local engagement in law enforcement outreach programs. She wrote, “Thanks to all the towns across NJ-11 who celebrated National Night Out — a great tradition that strengthens trust between law enforcement and our communities while bringing neighbors together.”

Later the same day, she commented on a recent incident involving military personnel. In her post dated August 6, 2025, Sherrill stated, “The shooting at Fort Stewart is deeply saddening. My thoughts are with the soldiers injured and their families and fellow service members during this difficult time. While we are still learning more details, one thing is clear: gun violence continues to tear through our”.

Addressing economic policy on August 7, 2025, Sherrill criticized former President Donald Trump’s trade policies and their effects on local constituents. She posted: “Trump’s tariffs are a tax on New Jersey families. They’re driving up costs for small businesses, forcing them to either hike prices or eat the costs themselves. Once again, it’s working families and local business owners who pay the price for his failed economic policies.”

Mikie Sherrill has represented New Jersey’s 11th District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Rodney Frelinghuysen. Born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Montclair at age 51, she has been an active voice on both community matters and national debates during her tenure.
