Rep. Mikie Sherrill, a U.S. Congress member representing New Jersey’s 11th district since 2019, recently shared several messages on social media addressing both personal and political topics.
On June 15, Rep. Sherrill extended her Father’s Day wishes through a tweet. She expressed gratitude to her father, father-in-law, and husband Jason for being exemplary role models. She also wished all fathers and father figures in the Garden State a happy Father’s Day. “Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful father, father-in-law, and my husband Jason, who has been an amazing role model to our children.”
The following day, June 16, Rep. Sherrill voiced her concerns about Pete Hegseth’s performance as Secretary of Defense. She criticized his responses to inquiries as inadequate and emphasized the need for a serious approach towards the position by stating: “Pete Hegseth’s incompetence is a danger to this country, and I’m tired of getting lazy answers to simple questions.”
On June 17, Rep. Sherrill reminded New Jersey residents about travel requirements amidst upcoming summer plans. She highlighted the necessity of having either a passport or RealID for domestic travel within the United States and offered assistance through her office for any related issues: “Reminder — New Jerseyans! With summer travel coming up, you need either a passport or a RealID to travel — even within the country.”
Mikie Sherrill was born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972 and currently resides in Montclair.
