Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) announced on April 9 that it will begin milling and paving activities on specific streets in the township during the week of April 13, weather permitting. Residents are advised to expect changes in traffic patterns, increased noise levels, and the presence of heavy equipment as crews carry out the work.

The utility company said typical work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with possible weekend operations if necessary. Schedules are estimated and may change depending on weather conditions. PSE&G asked residents to follow all posted “No Parking” signs, which will appear between 24 and 48 hours before work begins on each street.

The affected roads include Cornell Drive, Princeton Road, Rutgers Road, Devonshire Road, Hobson Drive, Lockhern Drive, Fordham Drive, Harvard Place, Forest Street, Chestnut Street (in multiple sections), Hemshire Drive, Ross Road (in multiple sections), Vanderbilt Drive, Wilshire Drive (including areas near Wilshire), and others as listed by PSE&G.

As a safety reminder related to ongoing utility work in these areas: “If you smell gas,” PSE&G said in its notice to residents,”leave the area immediately and call 911 or PSE&G at 1-800-880-PSEG (7734).”
