PSE&G is scheduled to begin vegetation maintenance on its electric transmission lines in Livingston starting January 1, 2026. The work will continue throughout the year and will focus on keeping power lines clear of trees and branches that could interfere with service.
The company states that this effort follows both state and federal regulations. Maintenance activities will include removing trees that are not compatible within PSE&G’s rights-of-way and trimming branches from outside trees that extend into these areas. According to PSE&G, “Maintaining vegetation surrounding power lines will help to prevent or mitigate any future outages.”
Property owners affected by the work will be notified before it begins. Notifications will be sent by certified mail and, if necessary, delivered in person.
Several streets in Livingston are included in the planned maintenance: Country Club Road, Dellmead Drive, Dickinson Lane, Dorsa Avenue, Eisenhower Parkway, Franklin Avenue, Gorham Avenue, Laurel Avenue, Livingston Avenue, McCall Avenue, Naylon Avenue, Old Road, Route 10, Sandalwood Road, South Orange Avenue, Tanger Drive and Walnut Street.
