Rep. Mikie Sherrill, who represents New Jersey’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed constituents on social media this week with updates about local events and policy concerns.

On August 25, 2025, Sherrill posted a reminder for her constituents to participate in an upcoming educational event: “Hey NJ-11! Don’t forget to register for my Scams & Fraud Awareness webinar, the first session of my fall webinar series at 10:30 tomorrow. All participants must register prior to the event at the link below! https://t.co/Pp3cXlKur8”

Later that day, she commented on disaster preparedness and federal emergency management policies: “Hurricane Sandy devastated New Jersey and just last week Hurricane Erin reminded us how vulnerable we are. Trump’s plan to gut FEMA would leave families and communities exposed and less prepared to rebuild in the aftermath of a storm. We can’t let him gamble with our safety.” This statement referenced recent severe weather events affecting New Jersey and expressed concern over proposed changes to FEMA funding.

On August 26, 2025, Sherrill highlighted her team’s engagement with JESPY House clients regarding recent legislative changes: “Last week, my team joined clients of @JESPYHouse to discuss the Medicaid cuts Donald Trump just passed into law. I’ve worked with JESPY House for years, and it’s despicable that Trump is ripping away critical benefits from vulnerable communities that rely on these resources the https://t.co/8Jjd5h5sou”

Mikie Sherrill has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Rodney Frelinghuysen as representative for New Jersey’s 11th District. Born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972, she currently resides in Montclair.
