Rep. Mikie Sherrill, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New Jersey’s 11th district since 2019, has recently issued several statements on social media regarding national and local political developments.
On September 30, 2025, Rep. Sherrill addressed the public with her statement concerning military leadership meetings: “My statement on today’s gathering of senior military commanders.”
The following day, October 1, 2025, she commented on ongoing government funding issues: “My statement on the Republican Government Shutdown.”
Later that same day, Sherrill criticized former President Donald Trump’s actions affecting infrastructure in New Jersey. She wrote: “Donald Trump is targeting New Jersey.
By halting funding for the Gateway Tunnel, he’s punishing Jersey families — from commuters to union workers.
He may be willing to sabotage our economy to score political points, but I’ll fight tooth and nail against this MAGA attack.”
Mikie Sherrill has been serving in Congress since replacing Rodney Frelinghuysen in 2019 and represents constituents from Montclair and surrounding areas in New Jersey’s 11th District. Born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972, Sherrill is currently 51 years old and resides in Montclair.
