Mikie Sherrill, a U.S. Congress representative for New Jersey's 11th district, has shared her thoughts on social media regarding several pressing issues. Representing her district since 2019, Sherrill has been vocal about matters affecting both her state and the nation.

On February 1, 2025, Sherrill commemorated the beginning of Black History Month by acknowledging the significant contributions of the Black community to New Jersey and the United States. She emphasized that "Throughout February — and all year long — we honor the impact that the Black community has made on NJ & our nation." Her statement further highlighted the importance of education in fostering an equitable society. The full post can be accessed here.

Later that day, Sherrill addressed economic concerns related to housing costs in New Jersey. She warned that "Your housing costs will get more expensive" due to a proposed tax increase on imported lumber from Canada. According to Sherrill, this tax would exacerbate already high living expenses in New Jersey. The original post is available here.

In another tweet on February 1, she criticized tariffs imposed by Donald Trump on trading partners Canada and Mexico. She expressed concern over their potential impact on everyday expenses for New Jersey families as well as national security implications: "Donald Trump’s tariffs...will make every day life far more expensive for New Jersey families — in addition to weakening our national security and standing worldwide."
