Rep. Mikie Sherrill, a U.S. Congress member representing New Jersey's 11th district since 2019, has expressed her views on several issues affecting her constituents through a series of tweets. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1972 and currently residing in Montclair, Sherrill has been vocal about economic and political matters impacting New Jersey.
On February 1, 2025, Rep. Sherrill addressed concerns regarding economic policies that may affect New Jersey residents. She stated: "I am committed to making New Jersey more affordable for all families. Trump’s tariff plan — targeted at our own partners and allies — will raise costs in the Garden State and make our economy less competitive globally."
In another tweet dated February 3, 2025, she highlighted the need for transparency from Seton Hall University concerning an ongoing investigation. She wrote: "This reporting is disturbing, raises even more questions, and requires transparency. I’ve called on Seton Hall to release the findings of its investigation and, yesterday, sent detailed questions to get to the bottom of this. New Jersey deserves answers and accountability."
Later that day, Rep. Sherrill criticized certain actions aimed at eliminating USAID as unconstitutional and misleading to the public. She tweeted: "These actions, including attempts to eliminate USAID, are illegal and unconstitutional. They're trying to fool Americans that the real problem is doctors at USAID saving lives rather than greedy price gougers and billionaires like Musk who'd rather maintain the status quo."
