Mikie Sherrill, representing New Jersey's 11th district since 2019, recently took to social media to express her concerns over actions and decisions taken by House Republicans, providing her viewpoints on several legislative and policy matters. Sherrill, currently serving in the U.S. Congress, aired her positions through a series of tweets addressing issues ranging from financial regulations to military strategy and voting rights.

On April 9, 2025, Rep. Sherrill criticized a bill sent by House Republicans to the President's desk, which she claimed would adversely affect working-class families in New Jersey. According to Sherrill, "Their bill would allow big banks to charge excessive overdraft fees to consumers, which will raise families' costs by $5 billion nationwide." Sherrill indicated her opposition by confirming, "I voted NO."

Later that day, Sherrill addressed another significant policy issue concerning U.S. military presence in Europe. In her remarks, Sherrill stated, "If President Trump pulls U.S. troops out of Europe, it won’t make us more safe." She suggested that such a move would not secure America's democratic allies and concluded that it favored Russian interests, adding, "He’s playing right into Putin’s hand."

On April 10, 2025, Sherrill returned to social media to discuss a newly passed law in Washington. She claimed the legislation represented a significant threat to voting rights. "Republicans in Washington passed a sweeping voter suppression law that will take access to the ballot box away from millions of minority communities, women, service members, and rural voters," she commented. Sherrill reiterated her disapproval by noting her vote against the law.

For more context on Sherrill, it is noteworthy that she was born in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1972, and now resides in Montclair.
