Rep. Mikie Sherrill, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 11th district, recently shared her thoughts on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Sherrill, who has been in office since 2019 after succeeding Rodney Frelinghuysen, addressed topics ranging from a tragic aircraft accident to policies affecting servicewomen and educational challenges post-pandemic.

On January 31, 2025, Rep. Sherrill expressed her sorrow over an aircraft accident that occurred in Washington, D.C., describing the event as "devastating." She conveyed gratitude towards first responders involved in recovery efforts "This news of last night’s aircraft accident in Washington, D.C. has been nothing short of devastating.".

Later that day, she commented on the Department of Defense's decision to rescind a policy allowing servicewomen to travel for abortion care. Sherrill noted her opposition to Sen. Tuberville and House Republicans regarding this policy and criticized Secretary Hegseth's stance on women serving in the military "Last night, the DoD rescinded a policy to allow servicewomen to travel for abortion care.".

In another tweet on January 31st, Sherrill discussed pandemic-related learning loss affecting children and proposed a solution through consistent tutoring support. She announced plans to reintroduce legislation aimed at providing resources for teachers and schools "As a mom of four, I’ve seen firsthand how pandemic-related learning loss is continuing to impact all of our kids.".
