On February 21, 2025, Sherrill expressed strong opposition to the budget proposed by House Republicans. She stated that the proposal "dismantles Medicaid, cuts food assistance for vulnerable communities, and strips funding from public schools," describing it as "flat-out dangerous for New Jersey residents."
