On March 13, 2025, Sherrill expressed concern over staffing decisions affecting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). She stated that "Trump and Musk are firing FAA staff — including those in critical air safety roles — and it’s putting pilots, crews, and travelers at risk." She further mentioned joining forces with Rep. Menendez to urge Trump's Department of Transportation to address the air traffic controller shortage.
