Rep. Mikie Sherrill, who represents New Jersey’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, shared three tweets over the past two days addressing various matters from religious celebrations to international tragedies and domestic political issues.
On March 30, 2025, Sherrill extended her wishes for the celebration of Eid Al-Fitr, stating: "Eid Mubarak! I hope all who celebrate Eid Al-Fitr have had a meaningful month of Ramadan and enjoy today’s celebration with family, friends, and neighbors."
The following day, on March 31, 2025, she addressed a tragic event involving military personnel: "This is heartbreaking news. I’m sending my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the soldiers who died in Lithuania. And I’m keeping the missing soldier, their family, and the recovery team in my prayers today as the search continues."
Later that day, Sherrill criticized actions she attributes to former President Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk, alleging negative impacts on New Jersey's federal tax allocations. She tweeted: "Donald Trump and Elon Musk stripped $350 million of New Jersey’s federal tax dollars that keep us safe and healthy — including for overdose prevention programs, vaccine clinics, and mental health services while threatening the livelihoods of New Jersey's health care workers."
